Yoga Continuum: A Merging of East and West
Yoga, an ancient movement and breath practice involving specific shaping and orientations to gravity, is coupled with
the fluid dynamics of Continuum. In this practice, we dimensionalize the language of asana into a greater landscape
of movement possibility, exploring how these shapings open our organism from the inside out. By activating our
cellular capacities through sound and vibration, we journey through each asana as an unfolding discovery of dynamic
qualities, spatial relationships, and intrinsic strength. Merging the inherent intelligence of these two modalities
expands the scope of our own personal movement expression as well as nourishing a deeper embodiment.
Continuum Movement & the Evolving Performer
Continuum Movement views the human being as a simultaneous event of thought, awareness, feelings, energy and
physiology intercommunicating at the speed of light. The practice is based on the idea that all fluids of the body,
regardless of function, are one resonant stream of communication with all other fluids. These fluids, when activated
by sound, begin to vibrate, shifting the density of tissue and opening the flow of cellular movement. As a performer,
being able to somatically transmit through our resonant organism is essential. Cultivating virtuosity and the capacity
to nuance movement allows for a broader dynamic range and authenticity. We will explore how Continuum resources
our inherent wisdom, inviting the deep well of our creative nature to lead us into new expressions.
