SIMONE FORTI
SIMONE'S CLASS IS FULL - SOLD OUT
Body - Mind - World:  improvising with movement and language
Wed, Sept 14, 4-6:30pm
Highways Performance Space
CLASS DESCRIPTION:
Sometimes our words don't have access to what we know in our bones, while our dancing
doesn’t have access to what’s on our minds.  In our daily lives we weave physicality and
spoken words to help us understand and communicate. The workshop will cultivate this
synergistic process through exercises for developing a natural and intuitive flow between our
moving, our thinking, and our speaking.
BIOGRAPHY:
Simone Forti is a dancer and writer. In 1955 started dancing with Anna Halprin who was
doing pioneering work in dance improvisation. Forti went on to be a seminal figure in the
Judson Dance Theater community that revolutionized dance in New York in the 1960s and
70s. Over the past few decades she has been developing Logomotion, an improvisational
movement/language performance practice.
