CLASS DESCRIPTION:
BIOGRAPHY:
Craig Ng is an actor, director, dancer, martial artist and ritual performance artist.
He has over 5 dozen credits in film, television and stage, and has studied several
forms of martial arts for over 25 years.  His exploration in these areas has inspired
the creation of “Chi Kung Theater.”  He believes the Theater is a catalyst for our
transformation as human and spiritual beings and Chi Kung provides the solid
foundation needed for being present on stage moment to moment. Over the last 20
years, he has taught workshops at: men’s conferences, prisons, Zen centers, cruises,
theater groups, dance companies and yoga retreats. He currently offers “Edge: The
Theater of Truth” weekly in Santa Monica.

I would like to bring my dog onto the stage, turn her into a tea cup, then a
song, a waterfall, a dragon, a Porsche~  hug the edges of the stage with her
multi-plied tires becoming the boulders surrounding a placid lake…

The stage is a place of pure potential energy where anything can happen. To
access this, we will use the grounding qualities of Chi Kung.  Its postures,
movements and stances will give us tools for listening to our senses,
feelings and inner movements. Our embodiment of these active sensations
will allow for the expressions of our impulses beyond our habitual limited
physicality, posture and identities. We will explore through movement,
sounding, improvisational exercises and writing. “Chi Kung Theater” will
create a space in you for energies you have avoided or denied. Participants
often report a sense of fullness, freedom and inner peace.
