Somatic Movement is an excellent resource for enhancing movement integration and athletic
performance, as well as resolving personal patterns, injury and pain management.  Tapping into
fluidity and experiential anatomy provides a remapping for health, physical prowess and life
perception. When individuals participate in their personal process through embodied awareness,
they can amplify the health of their tissues, mind and spirit . . .

Freedom of movement is achieved by releasing density (known as aging) in the physical landscape.
We do this by opening the body's tissues as well as one's perceptions, through awareness of
sensation and spaciousness.  This receptive state allows for optimal wellness and deep presence
when interrelating with one's environment and circumstance.  Freeing oneself from cultural,
personal and physical habit in this way offers new possibilities in all areas of life.

For over 30 years, Teri Carter has been drawn to exploring the mystery of "the body", particularly as
a portal into direct experience of creative flow and healing.  Her inquiry involves awareness that is
cultivated through fluid movement, sound, stillness, and sensation that supports conscious
embodiment.  This paves the way to for ease and fulfillment in daily life.

Teri maintains a private practice in Los Angeles, offering hands-on therapies, movement integration,
and life coaching.  She also teaches group workshops and performs dance throughout the U.S.
Teri gratefully acknowledges the courage and vision of her mentors, notably:  Emilie Conrad of
Continuum, Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen of Body-Mind Centering, Su Dong Chen of
Essence-of-Evolution Martial Arts, and Steve Paxton of Contact Improvisation.
